Node to self

Well it's been a crazy coupla weeks. Just one more final to go.
Here's how I remember the disadvantages of the payback method of capital project analysis: If I sell my soul to the devil so I can play guitar like a young Clapton, sure, the immediate benefits are obvious, but I might still get hit by a bus tomorrow, and the long-term doesn't look so good. Also, If I just applied myself a bit more, I wouldn't have to deal with the devil at all.

To oblivion, and beyond!!!!

Well, I like riding the bus, but only leisurely bus riding. If you have to get somewhere, it's quite slow, and in Peterborough, not so reliable. I often take it to go to the library. Time is not pressing, so I can spend the time turning my music way loud and looking at stuff as it goes by. I suppose I could do that even if time was pressing. Anyways, angsty rock music is my favourite.
It also gives me the opportunity to hone my non-eye contact skills. I can bring anti-social to a new level on the bus.
The other excellent thing about transit systems in general is the colour coded route lines. Theres something to be said for those solid block lines weaving about among a bunch of bold sans serif local names.

Philosophy of Speed

When i'm on the lower end of the sine curve that is my mania, I have this philosophy that life is like the movie Speed. We're all on this bus that we can't stop with the world going by. Sure enough we all know if we slow down we're doomed. I'm the touristy guy in this fantasy. Maybe I just want to be Ferris Bueller's best friend, but instead of a red wings jersey I'm wearing a leafs one. Nevertheless, I'm the guy the pretty lady has to pretend she's got gum on her seat, GUM!, to get away from. It's not my fault I grew up in Wyoming, or somewhere, and my social skills suck.
But soon Jack Traven will jump aboard and save us all, then later decapitate Dennis Hopper. All will be well.
